Mindful Art
Creative expression, mandala art and expressive therapies are powerful life affirming tools for overcoming stress, trauma, grief and loss and empowering self-transformation for post traumatic growth.
For the past decade Barbara has explored a range of expressive and visual art mediums, attended world renowned creativity programs and developed strengths, talents, and expertise in the following domains:
- Art Therapy + Happiness Project: An International Creative Community with Art Therapists Cathy Malchiodi (USA) and Janet McLeod (New Zealand)
- Art Therapy and Positive Psychology: Informed Practice Workshop with Art Therapist Cathy Malchiodi (USA)
- Art Therapy 1 & 2: Renaissance Life Therapies with Libby Serry (UK)
- Creativity Workshop Crete: Creative Writing, Drawing, Story Telling and Memoir with Shelly Berc and Alejandro Gogel (USA)
- Fine Arts: Professional development at the Lake House Studio, Canberra with international water colour artist Caroline Deeble (Australia).
In 2015 Barbara presented a series of Mindful Rejuvenation Retreats in the Australian Outback and produced an eclectic mix of mandalas and ephemeral art in remote areas across Australia.
Creative Arts
In 2017 Barbara was accepted to study Visual Arts at the Australian National University (ANU) but withdraw due to health and family commitments. Although her dreams were stymied in the short term, she rose ‘phoenix like’ in the aftermath and followed her bliss the mindful way pursuing other creative domains.
Soon after withdrawing from the ANU, Barbara was accepted into the Masters of Writing Degree at Armidale University (NSW) and has since morphed into a creative writer, digital media apprentice and expressive artist reinventing herself in the third age.
